BuyerLocator has been designed, built, and maintained by Proxity Electronic Commerce Systems, a Florida LLC,. PECS was founded in 2005 and has been profitable since 2007. Proxity currently provides databases subscriptions to 3,600 companies managed by wholesalers as well as by a direct sales force.

Management of the BuyerLocator system is provided by individuals involved in providing databases from 1969 to present and are responsible for virtually all electronic commerce systems utilized by the Military.
